Laxmi

Laxmi is a traditional Mithila craftswoman from the Benipatti cluster in Madhubani, Bihar, specializing in delicate miniature paintings and signature Kachni line work.

Her work highlights auspicious Mithila iconography including the sacred Mayur (peacock), radiant feather mandalas, and the Matsya (sacred fish) descending through river currents. Drawn entirely freehand with dense geometric cross-hatching, each miniature carries symbolic blessings of beauty, grace, and spiritual protection.
