It portrays the sacred forest of Mithila (Mithilanchal Vana) where gods, village women, deer, and sacred birds coexist in joyous ecological harmony. ### Craft Technique & Materials Combines elements of both Bharni and Godna traditions. Artisans prepare the base with a subtle cow-dung and rice-paste wash to give the handmade paper its historic warmth, followed by layers of natural ochre, leaf green, and soot black. ### Symbolic Meaning & Iconography - Village maidens performing sacred rituals symbolize matrilineal heritage continuity and community sisterhood. - Forest deer (Mriga) and peacocks symbolize gentleness, vigilance, and environmental sanctity. - The narrative composition embodies the ancient Mithila philosophy: that human domestic life is inseparable from nature. ### Provenance & Certification Every piece includes a physical stamped Certificate of Authenticity (Passport ID: MD-AUTH-FOLK-07).
